• Oxymem win award at IChemE (Institution of Chemical Engineers) 2016 Global Awards

OxyMem was co-founded by Professor Eoin Casey and Dr Eoin Syron (both members of the ESIPP team), along with their colleague Wayne Byrne, in 2013 as a spin-out from UCD’s School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering. OxyMem has commercialised a technology that dramatically reduces the operating costs for wastewater aeration and results in a four-fold saving on energy costs when compared to forced aeration, the current industry standard.

UCD and Oxymem were jointly the runner up and Highly Commended awardees at the IChemE (Institution of Chemical Engineers) 2016 Global Awards in the “innovative product of the year” category for their entry on bubble-less aeration. The award was presented to Prof Eoin Casey at the gala award event in Manchester, UK, on Thursday 3 November 2016.
