Damian Flynn is an advisor on the Scientist’s Apprentice, a series of five fun books that encourage children and adults of all ages to explore the science, technology, engineering and mathematics of the world around us. The Journals were distributed nationally through the Irish Independent newspaper and Tesco’s supermarket chain. The series featured topics such as energy and environment; space and physics; food, health and agriculture; and computer science.
Consumers will play a crucial role in the future development of sustainable energy systems. This workshop addressed this issue by bringing together the broad range of disciplines to examine the role of the consumer in energy research, including psychology, marketing and economics.
