  • Lucy Cradden is spending the month of October at the EU Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Petten, Netherlands.

EU Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Petten, Netherlands have recently developed, and released for public use, a simulated wind energy production dataset for the last 30 years for the whole of Europe based on 2015 installed capacity. Lucy is using this dataset to build an Irish case study of long-term patterns of concurrent wind generation and demand, to understand the effect of particular kinds of weather on the electricity system in its current configuration.
