Eleni Mangina is an Associate Professor in School of Computer Science and joined University College Dublin (UCD) in January 2002. Her current work focuses on the analysis, design and development of intelligent systems, which utilise different Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques and emerging technologies. More specifically, her contribution to ESIPP project focuses on evaluation of machine learning algorithms for the development of predictive models of buildings’ thermal load and energy consumption. She is particularly interested in the methodology of the creation of predictive models based on simulation performance and their comparison for the demand side analysis in the building energy sector. In addition to research, she is has taught courses nationally and internationally on Advanced object oriented data structures, Introduction to Robotics and Knowledge management. Eleni has a PhD in Agent-based applications for intelligent data interpretation from University of Strathclyde (EEE Department, Scotland) and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from University of Edinburgh (AI Department, Scotland).
