Eoghan Clifford is a chartered engineering and currently works as a lecturer in Civil Engineering, NUI Galway. He graduated with a BE and PhD degrees (both Environmental Engineering) in 2002 and 2010 respectively from NUI Galway. He is the Programme Director of the BSc Project & Construction Management at NUI Galway and lectures in various water and transport engineering modules. He currently manages over € 1.5 m in research funding and is the Technical Director of INNOQUA a H2020 project due to start in May 2016. He has led research projects with a value of € 14 m as PI, co-PI or technical lead with direct funding to NUI Galway of € 4.6 m in the last 7 years. His current research team comprises 19 research staff and postgraduate students. He has patented technologies in the water/wastewater field, has licenced two technologies and has a number of patents currently in the application stage. Outside of the research and commercial fields he has a particular interest also in policy development and improving educational outcomes and public awareness of the need for a more sustainable approach to resource consumption.
