Dr Aparajita Banerjee
Postdoc Researcher

Dr. Aparajita Banerjee has a doctoral degree in Environmental and Energy Policy from Michigan Technological University, USA, and a postgraduate degree in Economics from Jadavpur University, India. Having an interdisciplinary background in the environmental social sciences, she works in the broad area of how environmental public policies can be better informed by understanding public perception. Dr. Banerjee has previously engaged in research on community acceptance of bioenergy-based alternative energy technologies in Mexico and the United States, just transition, and understanding multistakeholder perceptions on the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals in Ireland. She is currently interested in research on social influences on consumer acceptance of new technologies, rehabilitation of existing carbon-exposed communities, sustainable post-carbon land use, and generally in the area of sustainable production and consumption policies and practices.
