    ESIPP and the UCD Energy Insitute will be hosting a workshop on Ireland's Future Hydrogen Economy to identify potential areas of research under the SFI Future Innovator Prize Sero Emissions Challenge.   • Tuesday 17 September: ESRI/UCD Conference - Energy Research to Enable Climate Change Mitigation

    Energy researchers from the ESRI and UCD’s Energy Institute will present a selection of their respective research providing an evidence base for climate change mitigation.

    This will be a half-day conference in the morning. More information and a link to register will be available soon on the ESRI website.

  • The ENGINE model: Determining optimal development of the Irish electricity sector under different policy scenarios

    Desta Fitiwi will present the Electricity Network and Generation INvEstment (ENGINE) model that has been under development in the ESRI. The model can be used to answer different policy-related questions pertaining to the least-cost development of power systems in the island of Ireland and beyond. The presentation will also include insights from case studies on the whole island such as the best locations and quantities of electricity generation and transmission infrastructure under different policy scenarios (e.g. high datacentre rollout, north-south interconnector, high RES diversification, centralized vs decentralized RES development, storage, etc.).

  • ESIPP Symposium Presentations Now Available

    The ESIPP Symposium “Unlocking the Potential of Energy Users in the Energy Transition” took place on Thursday 25th October in Astra Hall in UCD. The event was attended by academics, industry representative and political stakeholders both national and international. Many thanks to all those who attended and helped make it successful event.
